Hi! My name is Teddy and I am 4 years old. I live in sunny Singapore. It rains a lot here but I still love calling Singapore a happy sunny island. From beaches to indoor playgrounds, museums to restaurants, Singapore keeps me very curious, busy and active. My first story is about the exciting bus rides to school.
I go to Clementi Woods Kindergarten. Every morning, we start with an assembly where we sing and dance to some lovely tunes. It is also a time for us to Thank God for another day. My school serves healthy, warm and delicious food. My all-time favorite meal is the Bee Hoon - so yummy! What is your favorite food?
Clementi Woods Kindergarten is just between the Clementi Woods Park and West Coast Plaza. Every day is like stepping into a magical wonderland of costume events, puppet shows, picnics, baking, gardening, lesson time, experiments and so much more! I simply love dressing up for Chinese New Year and National Day.
My school loves to invite parents, to help our teachers for classroom activities and special events like Children's Day, Teacher's Day, and Racial Harmony. One magical day, my mummy came into my class to bake cookies. I was thrilled. We whipped up eggs, flour, butter and sugar, shaping cookies that were as much fun to make as they were to eat!
Sometimes, I still want to cry for my mummy, I even try pulling a sad face in the morning, hoping to melt Mummy and Papa's hearts but between you and me, I really really cannot wait to run back to school to meet my loving teachers and my best friends. I have so many exciting stories to tell Mummy everyday after school. This is the best kindergarten ever!
BUS RIDES to school are my favorite. Rain or shine, those buses in Singapore never stop. I simply love it on rainy days, with wipers going swish-swish and wheels splashing like a grand orchestra. It is like the nursery rhyme "Wheels on the Bus" came to life! And when the day is done, my favorite buses whisk me away back home.
Every time my mom calls a taxi on a rainy day, I turn into a cry baby. I don't want to miss my bus rides ever! I mean I also love to show off my bright yellow dinosaur raincoat to the whole wide world. I love making a pitter-patter on the tiny clear puddles, soaking my shoes and getting all wet.
It is my little way of having fun and annoying Mummy!I love to sing "Jumping up and down in muddy puddles" from Peppa Pig, splishing and splashing in the rain.
Do you have a favorite fun rhyme ?
I love going to school with my Papa too. It is like a whole new world of adventure! I get to ride my blue kick scooter and play tour guide, showing him the way. I am afraid Papa may hop on the wrong bus. He is still learning from me and has a long way to go. Oh, Papa!
But that is not all, when he picks me up from school, we hop on the NUS shuttle and go on a fun ride around NUS campus from Kent Ridge Terminal until we reach home. So much fun!
Let me now tell you the most important story. Each morning, I eagerly wait for Bus 33, ready to pick me up from my home to Kent Ridge Terminal. I get thrilled as I wave down the bus captain and hop aboard. I love greeting the captain and looking around the bus for the perfect window seat. Riding the bus with Peppa Pig, Madamme Gazelle and Miss Rabbit is real, not pretend!
Kent Ridge Terminal is my personal paradise. I get lost in the flow of buses coming and going while I wait for my second Bus 201, to take me to school. Sometimes I get so caught up in the excitement that I shed a tear if my ride comes early. I cannot help it - I can watch those buses forever!
Riding on the Double Decker 201 is like a roller coaster ride for me! I used to be a little afraid about sitting on the top deck when I was 3 years old. But I have found my courage now that I am a little big boy!
I happily race up the stairs, eager to peek at the fun below. There are wheels whooshing, green trees swaying, and sometimes even planes and choppers up in the sky! I find myself happy to learn about traffic signals from zebra crossings to safety.
West Coast Market is where I hop off! I love riding up the elevator holding Mummy's hands. I am thrilled to watch how the elevator starts by itself when we reach closer. It is like magic! I cannot wait to watch the colorful vehicles below us from the footbridge. But when we finally reach school, I cannot stop the tears from falling down my cheeks.
I do not know much about emotions and still learning what they are. I get confused easily. My life feels chaotic when the bus rides come to an end. But mummy with her cuddle and embrace soothes me.
With a kiss on the forehead, she whispers "Do not worry, tomorrow we can have the fun bus rides again". I am happy again, looking forward for my favorite thing to do every morning.
Bus rides to school!
Thank you Bus captains for driving me around safe and happy.
